Having thought about this, I'd say challenging, but sorry, I don't agree.
If this were the case, than I know that I myself as a leader (and that's not just in the roles people in Bendigo have seen me in!) would be long gone.
We all have doubts, you look at great men and women of the bible and look at their shortcomings, then we may have not have much to work with!
I see so many people in this position, including myself, and it's not about our inadequacy, it's about God's more than capable ability! And that excites me!
This quote not being biblical, I don't know who said it, but it seems like a sort of a "I'm looking down on you" type quote.
After all, Jesus said "God if there is another way, please let this come to pass"...
~Sammy, I'd rather you hate me for the truth than love me for a lie
'As soon as you start looking for the easy option out as a leader, you've lost it. Step down and let someone else step up.'
I was in two minds about this as well, but I think I do like it. You raise some good points, Sammy, but like most things it seems, this quote is saying something different to me.
I don't read it as talking about doubts or inadequacies, but more so about commitment to a purpose (in this instance, leadership).
Strong leaders are those which are willing to take the hard ways if those are the best ways for those they are leading. You become a weak leader if you start looking for the easy way out, because then your commitment has shifted from the best for those you lead to the best for your own comfort. Jesus is the perfect example of a strong leader, as although he obviously desired an easier way out, he pressed ahead with the hard way, what he knew he must do so that those he lead (us) could be saved.

What motivated you to put this up Cara?
