Curses
Can you be a Christian and be cursed?
for instance if you have a curse running through your family and you become a christian are you still cursed?
or can you be cursed by someone while you are a christian?

This is another hairy one! I've known respected Christians who claim to have been targetted by witchcraft "spells" and curses in the form of spiritual attack, and I don't doubt them - I think spiritual attack through this kind of stuff does happen. On the other hand, greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world - we are protected by the blood of Christ.
I think that when we come to Christ, ultimately the bondage of sin and curses over us is broken. I don't think that we are held accountable for the sins or curses of our fathers (although there are verses that speak about this, so I'm a little confused). However, we may suffer the flow-on effect of the consequences of their sins, or be tempted in the same ways as them (I've been meaning to blog about this, actually!).
Since I don't have any curses running through my family, have never been cursed by anyone, and don't know all that much about spiritual warfare, I don't really have authority to give an informed opinion on the subject, only speculation!

i think that some curses are broken when we come to know christ. for example the bible speaks of not knowing God as being a curse, so obviously that one is broken. but there are other things that i'm unsure of for example bad relationshps, but then there is the question of is that kind of thing a curse, or not?
